Cyprus, the tax haven in the Mediterranean, offers a pleasant climate and excellent weather conditions throughout the  year. The island typically enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild, humid winters and hot, dry summers.


Winter, which lasts only from December to February, brings mild temperatures and occasional rains. The average maximum daytime temperatures are a pleasant 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, while nights can be cool, with temperatures around 8 degrees Celsius. The mountainous regions in the Troodos Mountains even sometimes receive snow during this period, which provides the opportunity for skiing and winter activities.


With spring, which lasts from March to May, the weather in Cyprus begins to warm up. The days are getting sunnier and the temperatures are gradually rising. Maximum daytime temperatures are usually between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, making it the ideal time for hiking and exploring the island’s landscapes and flowering gardens. Cyprus offers the highest water temperatures in the Mediterranean. In February, 17 degrees Celsius are usually already reached. Whereas the water temperature in August peaks at around 28 degrees Celsius. Thus, also swimming in the sea or pool areusually very pleasant from the beginning of April.


Summer is undoubtedly the hottest season in Cyprus and lasts from June to August. Temperatures can reach 30 to 35 degrees Celsius during the day and the sun shines almost non-stop. This is the perfect time to enjoy the beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. It is advisable to protect yourself from the strong sun and drink enough water to avoid overheating.


In autumn, from September to November, the weather gradually cools down, but temperatures still remain pleasantly warm. The days are sunny and dry, but occasional rain showers may occur. The average daily maximum temperatures are between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. Autumn is a great opportunity to visit vineyards and traditional villages and experience the cultural heritage of Cyprus. But even in autumn, swimming in the sea is still a pleasure.
